On Friday May 6th our representatives from out Buckingham Clinic team went down to the Annual UK IDD Therapy Provider Conference. The conference was a full day event from 10 am through to 5.30 pm and was attended by almost 30 clinics from across the UK.
During the course of the day it was abundantly clear that IDD is really picking up pace across the UK. Since the last conference the number of clinics offering IDD has more than doubled in the UK alone. Across the world more 7 million IDD treatments were carried out in the last 12 months.
Through the day a number of case studies were discussed and their outcomes compared. IDD has traditionally been used to treat disc based pathologies, however evidence is now beginning to mount in support of its treatment for other conditions. Most notable from the days discussions were success stories surrounding treatment of scoliosis, osteo arthritis, spondylolisthesis and even stenosis. Both our Osteopath James Sneddon and our Senior Physiotherapist Rob Rolston were selected and featured on a panel of experts for a Q & A session in order to hash out some discussion points and help expand the knowledge base and confidence of other IDD practitioners. This also provided a great platform for discussion and debate which made for a fantastic learning opportunity for all involved.
The day was vastly successful and from it we can move forward with confidence in our ability to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients here at the Buckingham Clinic and continue to lead and pioneer treatment at a level of excellence for sport and spinal conditions.
